This site has been established to celebrate the Big Man of the Year Award, a part of the legacy left by Clarence "Big Man" Clemons since his passing on June 18, 2011.
In 2009 the Big Man of the Year Award was established with Clarence receiving the inaugural award. Each year since, the award has been given to a musical luminary who embodies the values of generosity and service and the passion to help others, that reflect Clarence's legacy. Prior recipients include Bernie Williams, Lady Gaga, Steven Van Zandt, Darlene Love, Jake Clemons and Paul Schaffer.
On 1/11/17 Clarence would have been 75 years old. To continue with the mantra Too Big to Die, we are ensuring that his legacy lives on by launching a new campaign with the Hard Rock Heals Foundation, www.HARDROCKHEALS.ORG, to commemorate and celebrate The Big Man.

Founded by the belief that All Is One, Hard Rock International has engaged in widespread philanthropic outreach, from human rights to hunger relief, child poverty to cancer prevention. Simply put, philanthropy is found at the very soul of Hard Rock. The Hard Rock Heals Foundation exists to improve lives through the power of music. Clarence Clemons always believed in the power of music and how important it is for children. His long relationship with Hard Rock International makes this an obvious relationship for his legacy. Because of this synergy , the Estate and family of the great Clarence "Big Man" Clemons fully support the Hard Rock Heals Foundation. We join you in celebrating the life of The Big Man, in the most fitting way possible.
